Stay tuned, because Bomberman’s problems go from galactic to quite literally demonic. He escapes with the help of newfound sidekick Pommy and immediately begins blowing the evildoers to kingdom come. While returning from vacation, Bomberman’s ship is pulled into a wormhole, and the hero is swiftly captured by the BHB army. So enough talking, let’s get this party started. Besides, for the purposes of speedrunning, who wants to sit around and watch a guy blowing up stationary blocks on a grid? Didn’t think so. It includes one of the better (and darker) stories, optional cooperative mode, and a wide multitude of different bombs and puzzles. By and large, however, Bomberman 64: The Second Attack is easily one of the very best. ![]() The N64 games, as well as several on the Gamecube and Wii, stand among those boasting the third dimension. Most games in the titular character’s repertoire adhere to this formula, but there are a few that deviate to full 3D environments. Bomberman games are known primarily for their grid-based levels and plus-shaped explosions.
